We are seeking an Infrastructure Engineer to join our Fixed Income Commodities and Currency Options (FICCO) and Cumberland team in either Chicago or London. In this role, you will be responsible for designing and supporting highly available systems within a technologically diverse stack used for global research and trading of FICCO and Cryptoassets. Leveraging tools such as AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD, Python, Prometheus and Grafana, you will develop repeatable and supportable infrastructure to meet the demanding needs of our business.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Participate in designing and supporting highly available trading systems
  • Maintain, design, and troubleshoot crypto trading networks
  • Continue to push efforts for building out infrastructure in AWS and Kubernetes
  • Use declarative frameworks to build and configure infrastructure
  • Manage large amounts of data on various storage platforms
  • Support and enhance highly available database architectures
  • Research and implement new technologies
  • Consistently challenge the norm and advocate for change
  • Ensure efficient handling of multicast and market data in traditional trading environments
  • Optimize and fine-tune the latest hardware and operating systems to achieve minimal latency in trading operations
  • Ensure systems are secure through regular patching and reporting, maintaining compliance with security standards

 

Required Skills, Experience & Abilities: 

  • Prior experience supporting mission critical, high performance trading applications
  • Experience deploying and supporting applications in Kubernetes
  • Previous infrastructure monitoring experience using Prometheus and Grafana
  • Solid Python experience
  • Previous experience maintaining and optimizing cloud infrastructure in AWS environments
  • Experience performing database and database infrastructure support for highly available systems
  • Previous Linux platform support experience
  • Basic knowledge of TLS
  • Demonstrated knowledge of network communications experience, including multicast and websockets
  • Experience using Ansible and/or Terraform to manage infrastructure
  • Flexibility to take off-hours support calls as needs dictate
  • Ability to learn quickly; a passion for new technology
  • Self-motivated to continually expand skillset and improve supported systems
  • Demonstrated high level of ownership and accountability
  • Ability to handle pressure and time constraints with composure
  • Strong organizational skills, including planning, prioritization, and documentation
