The Loews Hotel Chicago is part of a 52-story, mixed-use, ground-up concrete and glass structure located blocks from Lake Michigan. Prior to construction, Convexity had negotiated a forward-sale of the 400-key hotel, restaurant and ballroom to Loews Hotels –the hotel was sold to Loews upon completion in 2015.
An iconic hotel in Aspen, Colorado, Hotel Jerome originally opened in 1889 and was listed as a Landmark on the National Register of Historic Places. The first acquisition by Convexity Properties in 2009, Convexity completed the full restoration and renovation of the hotel in 2012. Local firm Rowland + Broughton handled the architectural design and Las Vegas’ TAL Studio provided Interior Design services. The project qualified for Federal Restoration Tax Credits and all materials that were salvaged during the restoration were donated to the local branch of Habitat for Humanity. Convexity sold its ownership interest in the hotel in 2015.
