Accounting Manager (Maternity Leave Contract)

As Accounting Manager, you will have an opportunity to rapidly develop your accounting and analysis skills in a fast-paced and technology-driven environment that is made of up a diverse set of trading businesses and other private investments. 

What you will be working on:

• Perform daily and monthly General Ledger functions such as cash and trading account reconciliation and income and expense accruals
• Lead month-end close process over several legal entities, in different jurisdictions.
• Monthly and annual preparation of financial statements in accordance with GAAP
• Manage Accounts Payable Manager
• Serve as backup in Chief Accounting Officer’s absence
• Work closely with the auditors to prepare year end work papers and complete other audit requests
• Collaborate with groups across the firm on process improvements and efficiencies
• Maintain deep understanding of data flows of internal systems
• GST/QST reporting
• Perform system entries for incoming and outgoing foreign and domestic wires
• Assist in Costing analysis
• Project manage projects as needed
• Create ad-hoc reports as needed

What you will need for this role:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; CPA preferred
• 4-7 years of public or corporate accounting experience
• IT services industry experience a plus
• Strong experience creating reports in Excel
• Previous experience working with Great Plains preferred
• Strong knowledge of GAAP
• Solid work ethic, very detail oriented
• Able to prioritize, multi-task and handle changing priorities
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
