Women at DRW share advice on how they stay focused, adapt, and continue to learn and grow in the financial technology industry based on their own personal experiences and professions. Here’s what they have learned.
In order to achieve the amount of success you set for yourself in your career, you need to take risks, work hard, and sometimes start learning new skills from the beginning. Once you can learn and adapt, career success isn’t too far behind.
Be detail oriented.
You will advance in your career quickly if you are able to effectively listen, ask good questions, and learn from those around you.
You don’t have to do everything on your own, and you’d be amazed at how willing your coworkers are to help. Ask questions. Various teams and departments can teach you skills that you may not have learned from your own role. And, if you have something to say, say it. Being your own advocate and voicing opinions and concerns over strategies, ideas, and objectives will help you and your organization move forward.
Keep yourself and others informed.
The fintech industry is rapidly moving and always changing, so it’s crucial to stay on top of new materials, as well as keep colleagues up to speed on objectives and projects.
No matter what role you take on, remember to focus on your skills, goals, and priorities and those factors will always guide you.
