The Trade Confirmation Analyst is responsible for driving and tracking the day-to-day process of contractually confirming physical and financial natural gas transactions.  Trades are subject to underlying base agreements that dictate deadlines pursuant to which the confirmations are subject.  Confirmations are verified via two separate processes:  incoming counterparty confirmations and outgoing house confirmations.  Trade data is reviewed and approved utilizing a three-point comparison of the trade blotter, the trade system and trade support. 

This person will hold other duties as well, including the coordination of group lunches a few times per month, maintenance of the office kitchen and various other administrative tasks that may arise.

Regular working hours for this role are 6:30 AM – 3:30 PM but there is sometimes a need to work later due to workload.  Bid Week occurs during the last five business days of the month and, during that week, all employees work through lunch, which will be provided.

  • Ability to operate according to a defined process but be flexible enough to implement modifications and creatively address one-off situations when necessary
  • Ability to operate effectively in a paperless environment while managing control of task status/process
  • Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with colleagues in a fast-paced, high pressure environment
  • Ability to maintain professional decorum in every situation
  • A service-oriented mindset
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Proven ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion
  • General knowledge of contracts is helpful
  • General knowledge of natural gas industry is helpful
